I was browsing for dorm room themes and furniture and came across this sweet commercial. I've been known to own an IKEA duvet cover or eight. I mean, they are so decently priced and you can change your look for $50 buckaroos. And seeing how growing up I too wanted to be a super hero who leaps into layers of blankets this commercial speaks directly to me.
We're inching closer and closer to my sisters move out date, and it makes me a little sad/nostalgic. I'm still really excited for her though, and I can't really be that sad because while she is technically moving away, she'll only be about 45 minutes away from me.
I'm continuing the process of making my house feel like a home and that means not only adding things that I find pretty, it means creating storage space for my life. One of the areas that was particularly crowed was the breakfast nook of my kitchen. It was time for an update to make a little more space since often you can find me, Ryli (my roommate) and our two dogs all in the kitchen together. Sometimes it would get just a little overcrowded. Here's a little layout of my kitchen nook.
For Christmas, my awesome sister-in-law bought us a six piece All Clad pots and pans set. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. We only had a couple of pots and pans that were in pretty bad shape, and we had been eyeing that specific All Clad set for a pretty long time. She gave them to us while we were visiting family in New York, and we had to pack them up in three different pieces of luggage. Once we got home and unpacked them, we both looked around our kitchen and wondered the same thing: Where are we gonna keep these things?
Do you ever feel like what you want is just out of your price range OR you know something else is out there just like what you want but at a better price point?
My husband and I love to travel. Actually, love is probably an understatement—I’d say it’s more of an obsession. In the past three years, we have visited 20 different countries and all of the continents, except for Antarctica. In fact, as I write this, we are in Brazil and tomorrow we leave for Argentina. If you have a passion for travel as well, try out some of the themes you’ve seen in other parts of the world in your very own home.
Here's a fun fact: the first recorded use of the word Pumpkin as a color name in English was in 1922. When you really get to thinking about colors, especially in the realm of paint chip swatches, you hear things like papaya whip and shell brook and poisoned apple. Crazy how people come up with these names and call them colors.
