As most of you know, I'm addicted to TV. I absolutely love to watch shows and pick out things that I would have in my house from the sets. I think it all started with Friends, I actually bought one of those yellow frames to go around our peephole. And since I have always been a closet geek, I love Star Wars, read comics, and I even have a zombie survival kit (just in case), I really can relate to the characters on the Big Bang Theory.
While I was working on some Halloween projects last night in my living room, such as rearranging some furniture and making creepy spider egg sacs, I realized how much my living room has changed over the past seven months of living here. I thought it would be fun to share some photos of how the room currently looks now in October and how it used to look back when we moved in.
Several of this weeks posts have been about my trip to the W Hotel in Dallas for The Weekender Dallas Event. The first being my fabulous night at the red carpet party and the second being about the fun I had shopping on Saturday.
I picked out my first bed frame when I first moved out of college. It was a black iron frame with a scrolled headboard and foot board. I still have it today, six years later and it's been in as many moves. The bed frame has been very versatile with all the different kinds of decor that I've gone through. However, I still remember when I was picking the frame out that I almost went in a completely different direction. There was this one bed in the showroom that had a white frame with a wicker headboard, and I lurved it. Somehow, my mother managed to talk me out of it and convince me that I would have tired of it. Maybe she would have been right, but maybe not. Since then, I have had a long-standing personal lust for more wicker in my life ever since. So, when I stumbled across a website called The Family Love Tree, that sells mostly wicker furniture, I was so pumped to share some of their pieces with you!
Summer is rapidly approaching and I'm eager to get my patio set up and functioning. All I brought with me in the move was a green chair that I redid last summer and it was pretty sad sitting out on the patio all by itself this spring.
This weather here in Dallas is so peaceful right now it makes me just want to redecorate in a soft calming color palette of chocolate browns, pale creams and golds and fun accents of muted lime green. This image was a set for an angelo:HOME collection in shot in Dallas this past summer of one the first phases of his collection.
