Chanukah just started and Christmas is swiftly following! What I love most, more than gifts and more than food, is the spirit of joy and peace people seem to carry around during these months, but what I love secondly as much is the festive decorations! I am a blogger and lover of small space interior decor after all, it's just in my nature. Being in the blogging world it's easy to spot the trends, and this season I've fallen in love with greenery. So deck the halls, and deck the doorways, because greenery, both living and imitation, is on-trend this holiday season!
Happy Friday to all! Have you been doing your holiday shopping? I've purchased a few things here and there but I'm not quite done yet. This guide is perfect for those people on your list who are obsessed with all things animal related.
Just because it's summer doesn't mean you can't have an inviting glow about your house. With all these things I've rounded up you can have the glow without the added heat, because trust me, in Texas, we don't need any extra heat. Adding a candle or lantern to a room just adds another layer of comfort and warmth, or bring votives and lanterns outside for a beautiful evening glow on your patio. By this time of the year, the fireplace industry has hit a slump due to lack of demand for heating devices, but here's the good news they start really dropping prices when summer approaches. It's kind of like buying bathing suits in the winter, or Christmas lights in the spring; you always find the best deals when things are in their off-season. Anyways I digress, instead of trying to add a glow with real wood and flame, you can add a visual glow with an electric fireplace and leave the actual heat setting off.
If you plan on staying home this New Year’s Eve, whether it’s to have a small get together with a few close friends or throw an extravagant New Year’s Eve bash, don’t forget that one of the most important details to pay attention to is the decorations. Depending on your style and the look of the decor in your home, there are so many ways to spruce things up for the last night of 2011.
If you are hosting this year’s holiday dinner, you probably have a good idea already about what you’re going to serve. Maybe you’re cooking up your normal holiday recipes that always seem to be a big hit, or maybe you’re having all of your guests bring one item to the dinner. Perhaps nobody is doing the cooking this year and you’re just picking up the holiday dinner to bring home. Whichever route you’re choosing, I think it’s always good to make the table look as nice and presentable as possible. In fact, that’s one of my favorite parts about hosting a holiday dinner - the table decorating! Here are some tips for a beautiful presentation this year, and some items that would make a great addition to the table.
No matter how you are decorating your home for the holiday season this year, I always feel that the one thing that really brings everything together isn’t necessarily the Christmas tree, but what’s found underneath: Presents! Beautifully-wrapped Christmas presents, in my opinion, really are the best holiday decoration you can incorporate into your home. It’s usually the first place where anybody looks when they come over, and people will definitely notice if they’re wrapped up nicely. I know that for some, it may seem silly because these presents will simply be torn into by the end of the month, and all that time and meticulous detail that was put into the perfection of present wrapping is destroyed in a matter of seconds. However, not only will the recipient truly appreciate the work that was put into the gift before tearing up your masterpiece and probably comment on how nice it looks, they truly will enhance your home.
