I was browsing for dorm room themes and furniture and came across this sweet commercial. I've been known to own an IKEA duvet cover or eight. I mean, they are so decently priced and you can change your look for $50 buckaroos. And seeing how growing up I too wanted to be a super hero who leaps into layers of blankets this commercial speaks directly to me.
Yesterday, in keeping with the whole "I'm in the Fourth of July spirit" mood, I did a quick entry table makeover. I went hunting for some things around the house to help my entryway look a little more festive for this month's holiday. I had a goal of not spending a penny to decorate and to just reuse random items I already had.
I picked out my first bed frame when I first moved out of college. It was a black iron frame with a scrolled headboard and foot board. I still have it today, six years later and it's been in as many moves. The bed frame has been very versatile with all the different kinds of decor that I've gone through. However, I still remember when I was picking the frame out that I almost went in a completely different direction. There was this one bed in the showroom that had a white frame with a wicker headboard, and I lurved it. Somehow, my mother managed to talk me out of it and convince me that I would have tired of it. Maybe she would have been right, but maybe not. Since then, I have had a long-standing personal lust for more wicker in my life ever since. So, when I stumbled across a website called The Family Love Tree, that sells mostly wicker furniture, I was so pumped to share some of their pieces with you!
I was so excited to get home from the gym last night and see the new season Design Star pop up on my DVR. Last season was such a fun season and by the looks of it, this cast is going to clash so gloriously I can hardly stand it. (WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS)
Happy almost Memorial Day weekend! I'm feeling some Americana decor today, mainly in the form of blues and reds. Americana decor is such a broad category and you use the theme in your home without it looking like an American flag took over. Just subtle hints here and there is all you really need. As long as you don't have an American Flag you should be fine.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Doesn't this drip-a-licious picture of ice cream take you back to your summer days as a kid? You know the ones where you chased that ice cream truck with a hoard of sugar hungry kids for miles? Take a look at this tasty color palette.
